We work very hard to make all our clients feel like family and we appreciate being included in their lives. However, we ask for the safety of your pets and home and our pet sitters that vacation announcements or pictures are saved until after you return or kept tightly locked to friends.

At Lindsey’s Dog Walking and In-Home Visits client safety is paramount to us! For this reason, we no longer use advertising magnets on the side of our cars and haven’t for 6 months.

We are always cognizant of the fact that clients are not only putting their pets in our care but also their homes. When our cars are showing up with advertising magnets on the side, and someone sees us coming and going with those magnets, it’s not hard to put two and two together. We feel this puts our clients, especially our vacation clients, at a huge risk of someone realizing there is no one home. We want to act as a presence in our clients homes by bringing in newspapers, rotating lights, and taking out the garbage. This is partially to make the home appear lived in and lower the chances of theft. We want to protect our clients and their pets and feel that using car magnets is just too much of a risk.

When choosing someone to care for your beloved pet, the first word should always be quality! While a pet sitting business may not be as inexpensive as throwing a few bucks to the neighborhood teenagers, family members or hobbyist pet sitters, it does come with a quality that is priceless when it comes to the safety of your pet. A pet sitter running a business will have pet sitting certifications, CPR/First aid certifications, background checked pet sitters, insurance, bonding and be involved in continuing education. Would you let just anyone babysit your children? Then why let just anyone pet sit your furry family members! We all hope nothing will ever happen to us, but in the event that it does, the quality and care of your pet sitter could be a literal life saver!

Lindsey's Dog Walking and In-Home visits takes great pride in the bond our pet sitters build with the pets in their care. For this reason, pets will always have the same pet sitter walking and visiting them. This consistency in care helps pets feel safe and comfortable and builds a trusting relationship between pet sitter and pet. A pet sitter being familiar with a pet also helps them notice if a pet seems different or isn't feeling well, as they know the pet well enough to notice subtle changes.
